Others may answer differently but I think the biggest one is simply this:
There is no one magic formula to make your site #1 that MANY others are not also already doing. If several follow the SEO top 10 then what will make the difference? Time. And what do I mean by that?
The bottom line is PERSISTENCE…who will maintain and sustain quality content and play the game longer than others to finally be better than the others…
This frustrating law about SEO thing is can be summed up as
THERE IS NO INSTANT AND SIGNIFICANT GRATIFICATION WITH SEO AS WE WOULD ALL LIKE, OVERNIGHT YESTERDAY, THAT WE CAN TRY!
SEO like making money is truly do or die, and the bad thing is it’s no end in itself to making money, only the means, and only one of the means at that. Don’t fail to remember the forest when you’re looking at trees all around you.
