Are Bloggers Considered Amateur Writers or Professional Journalists?
To answer the question…
It depends on how serious a blogger is about blogging. A blog can be like a journal or diary. I think that is how it started off. A money-making blog also may not be taken as seriously.
Many blogs have become marketing vehicles. But then again, so have many things both online and off. That also includes TV shows, newspapers and magazines all filled with ads.
But a blog can also be a venue to persuade, to report or just to babble. It can also be something to publish one’s writings and test them on the world.
A blog is like one’s soapbox, or space in the world. This is why “Myspace” got so popular I guess. So in a sense, a blogger can consider themselves writers, journalists, commentators.
Are bloggers pros or amateurs?
But most bloggers start out as beginners before they become professionals. Very few actually become professionals because most don’t want to be come professional bloggers. They just want to blab and have fun.
At some point they may discover that they can make money online but many are not in it for the money. yes surprise surprise I even know that.
But remember, even a fun thing you’re good at can become a way to make a little extra money without diluting the fun or the quality. It’s entirely up to you and how you do things.
High Expectations for Professional Bloggers
There is a high expectation for things such as quality and type of content for professional bloggers. But unlike traditional publishing there are less layers to go through to get one’s works out. Much less. So this is very appealing, isn’t it?
