7 Blog PRE-Launch Bits of Advice for a Money Making Blog 2
In part 1 of this Article for pre-launching that money-making blog…
I talked about an important pre-launch strategy you must use, or that I highly recommend, for starting a money-making blog off on the right foot – finding the right blog concept. Not a difficult thing to remember, but a very difficult thing to do.
I know that may seem basic common sense, but you won’t believe how many launch with a concept that just won’t work, yet they stubbornly refuse to believe it or admit it.
They fail because they fool themselves, and then their pride prevents them from doing the right things and getting back on track. Don’t be the same way!
On that note, here are 2 other very important pre-launch bits of advice for a money-making blog or a non money-making blog:
3 – Find the right domain name that is genius for your blog name, idea, and niche – and is not something that will die out in less than 10 years from now!
The right domain name will last for years. 10 years is the ideal, 5 years is the minimum. The wrong one dies out quickly or never catches on because it’s too short lived.
You have to know the difference between following a fad or following a trend. A fad comes and goes quickly. A trend sticks for a bit longer.
Be very careful here. Do your homework. Make sure it’s a name that will attract readers, search engines and that endures the making money with your blog for a long time. It should be a solid trend, not just a fad.
You have to think years ahead of time. Where will things be in a few years from now? Where are things headed now? Trends will indicate this and you need to pay attention to them.
Another Important Bit of Advice before Launching a Money Making Blog
4 – Find the perfect template and blog system (software, hardware and procedure) that will take you to the next level.
I like WordPress and use Bluehost. I have also used Site Build It in the past and either choice is optimal to be honest.
With Site Build It, they teach you EVERYTHING you need to know, but their themes and templates are limited and not as web 2.0ish in appearance although very much so in function and probably better for SEO than a blog is.
With Bluehost and WordPress, they teach you nothing but there is A LOT of information out there for how-to using Google as a way to find it. Plus there is a lot at the codex WordPress site and you will find what you need. I learned this way and it’s been fun.
Also, WordPress plugins make their blogging platform easy to use for your money making blog. I would give it a try if I were you.
Free Blogging with Blogger
At a minimum, if you don’t know if all of this is for you, then start off with a free system like Blogger which is extremely simple and self-explanatory to use and is FREE 100% with unlimited use, space and bandwidth benefit and a lot of info to use it.
Blogger’s biggest downfall though is lack of good themes and your blogs tend to look amateurish. But with many great looking free themes you could replace their immature themes, so you can still look like a pro for free.
Then only spend money on a domain name for under $8 or $9 bucks a year with 1 and 1 as a domain host with the cheapest and best domain name deals that I’ve used for many domains I’ve bought.
